Meet Our President

Steven Mines began his career with The Mines Press at the age of 13 running a 60 year old letterpress machine. While our equipment is more modern now and Steven has moved on to managing the company, his happiest days are still those where he finds himself helping a pressman overcome a particularly vexing problem on a press or in the bindery.

After graduating from Cornell University in 1984 and with an MA in Graphic Communications from New York University, Steven spent the beginning of his career with The Mines Press helping in the pressroom and bindery.  Following that he oversaw the transition of the company’s production technology from traditional to digital and after the firm relocated to the Hudson Valley Steven’s responsibilities grew to managing the entire production-facility.

An avid outdoorsman, Steven takes full advantage of the opportunities the Hudson Valley offers to those who enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking and photography.  He is also a Firefighter/EMT with The Golden’s Bridge Fire Department and an elected member of the Board of Fire Commissioners in The Golden’s Bridge Fire District.  

Steven also enjoys raising chickens and roasting his own coffee.
